Disneyland fans who rode Tiana’s Bayou Adventure have issues with the new attraction’s wetness.

‘This ride has always come with a warning that “you may get wet,” but even people who were familiar with Splash Mountain said they were not expecting that much water on the ride,’ according to a review by MousePlanet.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland will be open to the thrill seekers – and water lovers – starting November 15.

In anticipation of the ride’s official opening, park employees and guests who are Disneyland Magic Key holders have been allowed early ride access.

The attraction left many social media users happy with the refurbishment of what used to be Splash Mountain, but one rider said they didn’t enjoy the ‘unimpressive’ and ‘underwhelming’ ride.

Ahead of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’s opening, Disney previously ordered the leveling of its Splash Mountain flume rides in 2020, deeming their references to the 1946 film Song of the South ‘not appropriate in today’s world’.

After waiting to finally try out the ride, the X user said Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was a miss for their family despite Tiana being one of their ‘top three princesses.’

‘You used to get a little damp going down the big drop,’ the X user tweeted

‘But they have re-weighted the cars and tweaked the water so that there are inches of water in the bottom of the car when you get in and you are drenched by the end.’

The social media user added that they all purchased ponchos before going on the ride, but it still left their shoes and bodies drenched.

‘We would only do this again if we had a complete change of clothes or could run back to a hotel room on property. It’s not fun to us,’ the unhappy attraction ride wrote.

A writer from MousePlanet claimed their friend forgot an extra pair of shoes, and was forced to walk in soaked socks and shoes until the end of the day.

At least three X users were angry over the ride in general rather than just its wetness.

‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is such an insult to Tiana’s character,’ an X user tweeted.

‘The Disney princess with the most grit and personality is reduced to someone who forgot to book a band for her party. Total joke.’

Other X users were excited over the thrill ride, and multiple fans claimed they’d already rode on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure more than once.

One Disneyland guest claimed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was ‘even faster’ than Splash Mountain.

However, that X user has a disability and admitted to forgetting how a ride could beat up one’s body.

‘Will I ride it again? Probably not – though it’s not because of the retheming but because my body can no longer handle it,’ she wrote.

Another X user wrote: ‘Honestly Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure facade looks much better than Walt Disney World’s version.’

A park guest claimed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction in California is indeed wetter than the one in Florida, according to Screamscape.

‘Based on a couple of video clips, the experience in California is wetter than it ever was when it ran as Splash Mountain with some logs appearing to just absolutely flood with water after the big splash down to the point that your shoes might be totally submerged for a time,’ they wrote.

‘The word is that the speed of the water flow was adjusted as well around this time, to speed up the logs journey through the attraction in an attempt to make up for the lost physical capacity of each log, which had also had the side effect of increasing the amount of ‘splash’ as the more speedy logs crashed through the course.’

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida on June 28.

The ride, which is based on Tiana’s storyline from The Princess and the Frog, replaced Disney World’s Splash Mountain.

Because of its wetness, Disneyland recommends guests riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure rent a locker to keep their things dry.

Riders can also purchase a poncho, waterproof phone case or towel at the Louis’ Critter Club gift shop in Bayou Country.

Other items that can help with item dryness are Ziploc or resealable plastic bags.
