The 20 best-loved attractions, pubs and restaurants in the UK have been revealed by Google Maps.
To rank the top spots, researchers catalogued the places featured on the website with the highest number of reviews and ratings of more than four stars, then assigned scores by combining these two numbers.
Buckingham Palace tops the best-loved visitor attraction list. The royal residence has 177,568 reviews on Google with an average visitor rating of 4.5 stars.
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford, which takes visitors behind the scenes of the Harry Potter film sets, comes second on the visitor attraction table, with 88,859 reviews and an average rating of 4.8 stars.
London’s Big Ben, officially known as the Elizabeth Tower, rounds off the top three with 75,585 reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars.
Prehistoric Stonehenge claims fourth place (4.5 stars/57,116 reviews) and Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock, a former warehouse complex now home to galleries, museums, restaurants and bars, takes fifth place with a rating of 4.7 stars from 52,488 reviews.
In the pub ranking, JD Wetherspoon grabs all three podium places, with The Standing Order in Edinburgh coming top with a score of 4.2 stars based on 11,599 reviews; Blackpool’s The Velvet Coaster coming second (4.3 stars/11,145 reviews) and Glasgow’s The Counting House snagging third (four stars/10,635 reviews).
London’s Anchor Bankside claims gold for the capital and fourth place overall, with an average rating of 4.2 stars from 9,840 reviews.

Rounding off the top five is another Blackpool boozer – The Albert & The Lion JD Wetherspoon, which has an average rating of 4.1 stars based on 8,719 reviews.
In the restaurant rankings, all of the top five best-loved can be found in London. Topping the table is Dishoom Shoreditch, a branch of the Indian street food chain that runs ten restaurants in the UK. The popular Shoreditch spot picks up an average rating of 4.8 stars from 32,348 reviews on Google Maps, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The Royal Nawaab Perivale, a restaurant serving Indian and Pakistani food in Ealing, comes second on the list. It has a 4.6 star rating from 31,972 reviews.
Circolo Popolare, an Italian close to Oxford Street that’s run by the Big Mamma group, rounds off the top three with a score of 4.8 stars from 25,895 reviews.
A branch of the American fast-food fried chicken chain, Popeyes Louisiana Chicken, lands just outside the top three, with the capital’s Stratford branch earning fourth place with a score of 4.8 stars based on 22,434 reviews.
Ave Mario, an Italian restaurant in Covent Garden and also part of the Big Mamma group, takes fifth place with a score of 4.8 stars from 18,689 reviews.
